One of lucha libre’s most storied faction names is back. Los Perros Del Mal has officially reformed under the WWE AAA banner, with a five-person group revealing itself by laying out El Grande Americano in the closing moments of the latest episode.
The segment came during what was supposed to be a celebratory moment for Americano, who took the microphone to thank the fans following a mask vs. mask victory. He then used the occasion to call out Dominik Mysterio, targeting the AAA Mega Championship. But instead of Mysterio, NXT star Karmen Petrovic appeared on the ramp — and while Americano’s attention was on her, he was blindsided and beaten down by four men: Angel, Berto, NXT’s Bronco Nima, and Daga. After leaving Americano laid out, all five pulled back their jackets to reveal Perros Del Mal t-shirts, making the faction’s identity official.
The group carries significant historical weight. Los Perros Del Mal was originally led by Perro Aguayo Jr. and operated across both CMLL and AAA during its original run, counting numerous lucha libre legends among its members — including Hector Garza, the uncle of Angel and Berto of Los Garza. The two SmackDown stars have long paid tribute to the faction by wearing its signature claw marking on their chests, so their involvement in this relaunch feels like a full-circle moment. Aguayo Jr. passed away in 2015, bringing the original run to a close.
Also notable is Daga’s participation, as the appearance marks his return to AAA after time with TNA. Alongside Petrovic and Bronco Nima representing WWE’s NXT brand, the new Perros Del Mal roster bridges multiple rosters under one very recognizable lucha banner.
With the faction now established and El Grande Americano firmly in their crosshairs, the new-look Perros Del Mal immediately positions itself as a major force in WWE’s AAA programming going forward.
