Aalyah Mysterio Joins WWE Performance Center Roster

Aalyah Mysterio appears to be the newest member of the Mysterio wrestling dynasty to join WWE. She has started training at the WWE Performance Center and is now listed on the promotion’s internal roster, though currently under her real name, Aalyah Gutierrez, rather than the Mysterio name recognized by wrestling fans worldwide.

Listing new signees under their legal names rather than their intended ring names is standard practice for WWE while trademark paperwork is sorted out, so the use of “Gutierrez” instead of “Mysterio” isn’t unusual and doesn’t necessarily signal how she’ll ultimately be presented once she’s cleared for television or NXT programming.

Aalyah is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and the sister of Dominik Mysterio, who has become one of the most talked-about heels in the company over the past several years as part of the Judgment Day. The Mysterio surname carries enormous weight in wrestling, tracing back through Rey’s legendary career in WCW, ECW, and WWE, and Aalyah has already been a visible presence around the business thanks to her family’s status, including appearances alongside her father and brother during various storyline segments.

Her arrival at the Performance Center suggests WWE is looking to formally develop her as an in-ring talent rather than keep her limited to on-screen family cameos. The Performance Center has become the standard pipeline for nearly every new WWE signee, whether they’re former independent stars, athletes from other sports, or, as in this case, someone who grew up immersed in the wrestling business. Training there typically includes in-ring instruction, promo work, and conditioning before a call-up to NXT, where prospects get live reps in front of crowds and build a body of work before any main roster consideration.

WWE has increasingly leaned into legacy storytelling in recent years, with second- and third-generation performers like Bron Breakker, Rhea Ripley’s Judgment Day running mate Dominik, and countless others carrying forward family names that already have built-in audience recognition. Aalyah stepping into a similar pipeline makes plenty of sense given the current landscape, and it would allow WWE to eventually fold her into the extended Mysterio/Judgment Day story that has been part of the company’s programming for years.

There’s no word yet on a timeline for when she might debut in NXT or how she’ll be presented once she does, and WWE hasn’t made any formal announcement about her signing. For now, her placement on the internal roster is simply confirmation that her training has begun in earnest.

Given the built-in storylines available — from her father’s legacy to her brother’s prominent spot in the Judgment Day — Aalyah Mysterio’s development will be worth tracking closely as she works her way toward a potential in-ring debut.
