But it was the Unreal moment that seemed to sting the most. “I guess a low moment was watching Unreal and seeing what Michael Hayes said and having it confirm what I thought, which is that I am here to elevate the other girls,” Green said. “I am here to get them from the midcard to the top-girl spot, and that may be the place I stay forever.”

Despite the pain of hearing that assessment play out publicly, Green revealed that Hayes has since personally apologized to her, adding a layer of closure to a storyline that unintentionally became part of her real-life redemption arc.

Green also spoke about the reaction from her peers after finally capturing championship gold. She singled out Tiffany Stratton’s salute following the match as a moment that meant a great deal to her, especially since it was caught on camera. “When I went into the back, and everyone was hugging me, I just felt so loved,” Green said. “The best thing in the world is to feel loved and respected by the people that you love and respect in this business.”
