El Grande Americano made his first appearance on Lucha Libre AAA on FOX since capturing a Mask versus Mask match at Noches de Los Grandes, and the homecoming turned ugly fast. The closing segment of the June 20th episode saw Americano celebrating with the live crowd before a rebranded Perros del Mal faction — now featuring Daga, Karmen Petrovic, Bronco Nima, Angel, and Berto — stormed the ring and laid him out.
The attack signals a clear direction for both Americano and the newly reconstituted group. Perros del Mal is one of the most storied faction names in Mexican wrestling history, and its relaunch under this particular lineup is a significant development for AAA. Daga has long been a prominent figure in the promotion, while Karmen Petrovic brings crossover recognition from her WWE tenure. Rounding out the group with Bronco Nima, Angel, and Berto gives the faction both size and numbers.
For El Grande Americano, the timing couldn’t be worse — or more compelling from a storytelling standpoint. He returned riding high off a major mask match victory, only to be immediately targeted by one of lucha libre’s most recognizable faction brands. The segment plants the seeds for what figures to be one of AAA’s featured rivalries heading forward, with Americano now squarely in the crosshairs of a dangerous five-person unit eager to make a statement.
