Joe Hendry Reveals Talks For 2025 WWE Raw In Scotland Fell Through

Joe Hendry has addressed the long-running speculation that he was set to appear on WWE’s Monday Night Raw broadcast from Glasgow, Scotland, back in March 2025. According to Hendry, there was genuine interest in getting him on that show, but the appearance never came together in time.

WWE brought Raw across the Atlantic for a European tour stop in Glasgow last year, and fans immediately speculated that Hendry — a Scotland-born star with a massive grassroots following — could pop up on the card given the hometown significance. Hendry has now confirmed that the idea was at least discussed, saying simply that “we just couldn’t get it done for that show.”

For those who’ve followed Hendry’s rise, the near-miss makes sense as part of a bigger pattern. Hendry has become one of wrestling’s most talked-about grassroots success stories over the past couple of years, largely on the strength of his self-written entrance theme “Believe in Joe Hendry,” which turned into a viral sensation and helped make him a crossover star well beyond his TNA Wrestling home base. His combination of comedic charisma and genuine in-ring ability has made him a frequent subject of fan campaigns pushing for a WWE appearance, especially any time the company runs a show in the U.K.

The Glasgow Raw would have been an obvious moment for that to happen — a hometown crowd, a receptive audience already chanting his name at other promotions’ shows, and a built-in viral moment waiting to happen. That it didn’t come together isn’t necessarily surprising, though. Cross-promotional appearances of that kind require cooperation between companies, scheduling flexibility, and often months of behind-the-scenes negotiation, and Hendry remains under contract to TNA, which has its own working relationship with WWE through various shared projects. A one-off cameo on a WWE international special isn’t as simple as just showing up, even for a hometown hero.

Hendry’s comments don’t confirm whether talks could resurface for a future overseas Raw, SmackDown, or premium live event stop in the U.K., but the fact that the conversation happened at all is notable. It suggests WWE has, at minimum, taken note of Hendry’s drawing power and the goodwill he’s built with wrestling fans worldwide — goodwill that extends well past the TNA audience and into the kind of viral, mainstream attention companies like WWE actively chase.

For now, Hendry remains one of the most visible non-WWE stars in the industry, and the appetite for him to appear on the company’s biggest stages hasn’t gone away. If WWE returns to Scotland, or anywhere in the U.K., expect the speculation to start right back up — and this time, perhaps the timing will finally line up.
