Tony Khan Invites Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J To AEW Dynamite

AEW President Tony Khan reportedly extended a personal invitation to Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J to attend Dynamite in Detroit on Wednesday, July 29, according to comments made by Vince Russo on The Coach and Bro Show with Jonathan Coachman.

Russo said Khan wanted to meet Violent J before the show and that the Juggalo Championship Wrestling co-founder had been personally contacted by AEW ahead of time. “Violent J is at their show right this second,” Russo said during the podcast. “[Khan] wanted to meet Violent J. And they’re in Detroit as we speak. That’s all I know. I know J is very excited. I know they personally called him. And I know they personally told him that Tony wants to meet him before the show. So he’s in Detroit. He’s very, very excited. I’m very excited for him.”

It’s unclear whether Shaggy 2 Dope, the other half of Insane Clown Posse, also made the trip to the Masonic Temple for the broadcast.

The connection between Khan and the Juggalo wrestling world isn’t new. Khan has spoken favorably in the past about JCW, the promotion co-founded by Violent J that airs its weekly JCW Lunacy series on YouTube every Thursday. Those comments came during an earlier appearance on the same Coach and Bro Show, suggesting this invitation may be the product of an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off gesture.

While there’s no indication Violent J was set to appear on camera or factor into any in-ring segment, Khan’s willingness to bring outside pop-culture figures into the AEW orbit is well established.
