NXT Adds Speed and Tag Title Matches for Next Week

WWE NXT has loaded up next week’s card with a pair of newly confirmed championship matches, adding to an already stacked lineup following Tuesday night’s episode.

Wren Sinclair will put her NXT Women’s Speed Championship on the line against Zaria. The match came together after Sinclair called out Zaria for the Women’s North American Championship, only for NXT General Manager Robert Stone to intervene. Stone ruled that Zaria had already done enough to earn a title opportunity and didn’t need to work through a tournament, instead slotting her directly into a Speed Championship match. Stone sweetened the deal for Sinclair as well — if she retains, she’ll be guaranteed a future shot at the Women’s North American title.

The NXT Tag Team Championships will also be up for grabs. Myles Borne picked up a win over Kam Hendrix on Tuesday’s show, and that victory earned Borne and his partner Tavion Heights a shot at champions Vanity Project.

Also announced: Jaida Parker and Thea Hail have decided to team up after several weeks of friction involving Karmen Petrovic, Nikkita Lyons, and Nattie. The newly aligned duo will face off against Petrovic and Lyons next Tuesday.

Those matches join the previously announced NXT Women’s Championship Underground Match, where Kendal Grey defends against Lola Vice.

It’s a heavy night on paper, and it says a lot about where NXT’s women’s division currently sits. Between the Underground gimmick match, the Speed Championship stipulation, and the ongoing North American title picture, WWE is clearly using the brand’s midcard and speed-title concept to keep multiple storylines moving at once rather than parking everything behind one marquee feud. Stone’s ruling on Zaria also reinforces his booking style as GM — leaning into instinct and past performance over strict tournament structure, which has been a recurring wrinkle in how title opportunities get earned on the black-and-gold brand.

The tag division, meanwhile, gets a fresh challenge after Vanity Project’s reign, with Borne and Heights looking to make good on a win that came together quickly. And the Parker-Hail alliance adds a new dynamic to a crowded corner of the women’s roster that’s included Petrovic, Lyons, and Nattie in recent weeks.
