AEW Redemption Debuts in Montreal With Six Title Fights

AEW’s first-ever Redemption event is set for Sunday, July 26, live from the Bell Centre in Montreal on HBO Max pay-per-view, with the Buy-In starting at 6 p.m. ET and the main card following at 7 p.m. ET. The show carries extra weight given that AEW All In: London is just 35 days away, meaning results here could directly shape the biggest card of the year.

At the top of the bill, Kenny Omega defends the AEW World Championship for the first time since winning it back from MJF, this time against TNT Champion Kevin Knight of the Don Callis Family. Omega is fighting without Callis’s backing for the first time in this reign, while Knight has spent recent weeks proving — sometimes by using his own title as a weapon — that he doesn’t need saving from anyone. A win would make Knight a two-belt champion; a loss keeps Omega on track for a showdown with Will Ospreay in London.

The Women’s World Championship picture is just as charged. Thekla defends against Willow Nightingale, who pivoted away from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after a surprise, victorious run through the Casino Gauntlet at Dynamite Beach Break. The two have already clashed physically go on go into Redemption, most recently with Thekla and TBS Champion Hikaru Shida teaming up to beat Nightingale and Maya World on Collision. Whoever leaves Montreal as champion is expected to face Owen Hart Tournament winner Mercedes Moné at All In: London.

Kyle Fletcher puts the AEW International Championship on the line against ROH World Champion Bandido in a first-time matchup, with Fletcher specifically asking that the rest of the Don Callis Family stay away from ringside. A win would make Bandido a double champion, while a successful defense keeps Fletcher’s short reign rolling after he dethroned Konosuke Takeshita at Beach Break.

Elsewhere on the card, Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay team up against the Young Bucks in a match born from mutual history rather than titles — Ospreay and Moxley have both feuded with and alongside the Bucks over the years, adding intrigue to a bout with no gold at stake. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Death Riders’ PAC and Claudio Castagnoli, continuing a rivalry that’s been building for weeks.

The rest of the lineup includes Mark Davis defending the AEW National Championship against Andrade El Ídolo, Chris Jericho and Tommaso Ciampa colliding in a No Holds Barred match, a six-way ladder match for a future International Title shot featuring Jack Perry, Mike Bailey, Komander, The Beast Mortos, Nick Wayne and El Clon, and a Double Chain Match pitting Juice Robinson and Jay White against David Finlay and Clark Connors. The Buy-In will also feature a celebration honoring 80 years of Montreal’s Rougeau wrestling family.

With so many championship pictures tied directly to All In: London, Redemption functions less like a standalone show and more like the first domino in AEW’s summer roadmap. Whoever survives Montreal walks straight into the spotlight at Wembley Stadium — and for several of these stars, tonight’s outcome may determine whether that spotlight shines on them at all.
