Dragon Lee Out Of AAA’s Verano de Escándalo With Thumb Injury

Dragon Lee will not be part of AAA’s upcoming tapings in Aguascalientes for Verano de Escándalo after suffering a thumb injury during this week’s WWE Raw. Lee was diagnosed with a collateral ligament tear in the thumb, an injury he says will keep him sidelined for the AAA event.

The injury occurred during a tag team match on Raw, where Lee and Je’Von Evans faced off against The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker. At some point in that bout, Lee hurt his thumb badly enough to require follow-up evaluation, which led to the collateral ligament tear diagnosis.

The timing is unfortunate for both AAA and Lee personally. Verano de Escándalo is one of AAA’s notable stops on the calendar, and Lee has long been one of the promotion’s signature stars going back to his days as a top luchador before his run in WWE and NJPW.
