Referee Katie Reynolds Set for WWE NXT Debut

WWE NXT is adding a new official to its roster of referees. Head NXT referee Adrian Butler announced that Katie Reynolds, who has worked under the ring name Alice Lane, will make her debut at an NXT live event this weekend.

Reynolds brings a solid résumé to WWE’s developmental brand. She previously worked as a referee for Ohio Valley Wrestling, a promotion with deep ties to WWE’s talent pipeline, and also spent time officiating for TNA Wrestling. Her work in TNA didn’t go unnoticed — Steve Maclin publicly praised how she handled officiating duties in the main event of TNA Rebellion, a spotlight assignment that speaks to the trust she’d already built with talent and agents before ever stepping into a WWE ring.

Referees rarely make headlines, but the officiating crew plays a bigger role in how a brand’s in-ring product feels than fans often give credit for. NXT has leaned on a small, recognizable group of referees for years, and adding proven talent like Reynolds — someone with real experience calling matches under pressure — suggests WWE continues to view its third-party talent pool and OVW pipeline as a legitimate proving ground for behind-the-scenes roles, not just in-ring competitors.
