Bryan Alvarez addressed the situation on Wrestling Observer Live and said the entire premise was flawed from the start. According to what he was told, Guevara’s bio never included any reference to AEW in the first place, meaning there was nothing to remove.

“I was told that this is 100%. So the reason this whole story happened was because somebody noticed that he had removed AEW from his bio,” Alvarez said, before explaining the actual sequence of events. “So what happened was, he tweeted ‘New bio,’ and somebody went up there, looked at his bio, saw there was no AEW mentioned in it, and then they spread around the internet that he had ‘removed’ AEW from his bio.”

Alvarez was direct in shutting down the idea that anything had actually changed. “I have been told that he never had AEW in his bio. AEW was never removed from his bio. Someone thought he had removed it from his bio, which is why this whole story came out that he wanted out or had gotten his release.” He summed it up simply: “So really, nothing has changed at all over the last week. So that’s the update.”

It’s a reminder of how quickly speculation can snowball in wrestling’s online ecosystem, especially around a performer like Guevara, whose name tends to draw attention any time contract or backstage rumors surface. Guevara has been a fixture in AEW since the company’s launch, and any hint of discontent — real or imagined — is bound to spread fast given how closely fans track roster movement across the industry right now, with talent trading between AEW and WWE more frequently than in years past.
