AEW’s The Last Match Adds Simon Miller for London Debut

AEW Presents The Last Match has added another name to its cast ahead of the show’s London premiere, announcing that Simon Miller has joined the production’s growing roster.

Miller, best known internationally for his work with WhatCulture Wrestling and its popular Ups & Downs series as well as his own in-ring career, will step into the world of The Last Match as Alexander Swagger — a character described as an arrogant, spotlight-craving wrestling star who believes he’s the biggest attraction in the business.

The Last Match is a stage production billed as a professional wrestling rock musical, blending live in-ring action with original music, storytelling, and theatrical drama. It’s presented by AEW but built around an entirely original story, with a book and lyrics from Jason Huza, additional book, music and lyrics from Silvana Joyce and C. Robert Smith, and an original concept and book from creator, director and lead producer Jeremiah James.

James praised Miller’s standing in the wrestling community as a driving factor behind the casting. “Simon isn’t just someone who talks about wrestling — he lives it,” James said. “He’s earned the respect of wrestling fans around the world through his passion, authenticity, and genuine love for this business. Alexander Swagger is a character audiences are going to love to hate, and Simon is the perfect person to bring him to life.”

Miller echoed that enthusiasm about taking on the role. “I’ve spent years celebrating professional wrestling and the incredible people who make this industry what it is,” he said. “Getting the opportunity to step into this world as Alexander Swagger was something I couldn’t pass up. The Last Match is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and I think wrestling fans are going to have an absolute blast.”

Miller joins a roster that continues to expand as the London premiere approaches, with AEW promising additional casting announcements in the near future. The production aims to fuse the spectacle of live professional wrestling with the emotional beats of a rock musical, hoping to draw in longtime wrestling diehards alongside audiences new to the genre entirely.
