Trick Williams Says Lil Yachty Designed His Custom US Title Belt

Trick Williams has a new piece of hardware, and it came with some serious star power behind it. During the July 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, rapper Lil Yachty surprised Williams with a custom United States Championship belt, and Williams has since revealed just how personally involved the artist was in bringing it to life.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Williams said Yachty didn’t simply commission the belt — he hand-directed the design and sculpted it himself. According to Williams, Yachty wanted to create something that felt personal rather than just another novelty title plate, underscoring how much thought went into the gift beyond a typical celebrity shout-out.

Lil Yachty has been one of the more visible celebrity fans in WWE over the past year, regularly showing up at shows and voicing his support for Williams, who has become one of the promotion’s breakout stars since his run atop NXT and subsequent move to the main roster. The custom belt moment on SmackDown added another layer to that relationship, turning a backstage friendship into a memorable on-air moment for Williams’ growing fanbase.

Williams currently holds the United States Championship on SmackDown, a title win that capped off a rapid rise following his acclaimed NXT title reign. The gesture from Yachty fits into the broader trend of hip-hop artists embracing pro wrestling culture, with several rappers and musicians becoming fixtures at WWE events in recent years.

As Williams continues to build momentum with the U.S. title, the custom belt from Yachty stands as a tangible symbol of the crossover attention he’s attracting outside the wrestling world. Expect the two to keep showing up together as Williams’ championship reign rolls on.
