Thea Hail, M By Elegance Advance In TNA Knockouts TV Title Tournament

The TNA Knockouts Television Championship tournament continued on Thursday Night iMPACT, which aired on July 16, with two more first-round matches shaking out the bracket.

M by Elegance picked up a win over Rosemary in the opening tournament bout of the night, keeping her championship pursuit alive. In the second match, NXT’s Thea Hail — competing across brands as part of the tournament field — got the better of Harley Hudson to punch her own ticket to the next round.

The tournament is being used to crown a new titleholder for TNA’s Knockouts division, and the inclusion of outside talent like Hail underscores the working relationship between TNA and WWE’s NXT brand, which has produced a number of notable crossover appearances in recent months. Both M by Elegance and Hail now move forward in the bracket, with the rest of the field expected to be sorted out in the coming weeks on iMPACT as TNA builds toward crowning its next Knockouts TV Champion.

No word yet on who M by Elegance or Hail will face next, but with the tournament rolling forward on a weekly basis, that should become clear soon enough.
