John Cena Set To Face Noah Lyles At Fanatics Games

John Cena is expected to take on Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles in a matchup at the Fanatics Games, part of Fanatics Fest in New York City.

Lyles, an eight-time world champion sprinter and one of the most recognizable names in track and field, would be squaring off against Cena in what shapes up as one of the bigger crossover attractions of the event. Fanatics Fest has increasingly leaned on star power from across sports and entertainment, and pairing Cena — who has spent the last stretch of his career leaning into his pop-culture ubiquity outside the ring — with an athlete of Lyles’ profile fits that mold.

Details on the exact format of the Cena-Lyles matchup at the Fanatics Games haven’t been laid out, but the appearance underscores how far Cena’s reach now extends beyond WWE programming. With his in-ring career winding down, Cena has taken on a broader entertainment and ambassador role, popping up at high-profile non-wrestling events and building bridges with fans who may know him more from film, television or, in this case, a track-and-field-adjacent spectacle than from the squared circle.

For Lyles, stepping into a matchup with Cena offers a chance to expand his own crossover appeal. The sprinter has already built a public persona that thrives on charisma and confidence, qualities that could make him a natural foil for Cena in front of a live crowd.

Fanatics Fest has grown into a major hub for sports memorabilia, athlete appearances and fan interaction, and adding a Cena attraction gives the wrestling contingent something to point to on the schedule. Neither side has detailed what exactly the on-site interaction will look like, whether it’s a lighthearted competition, staged confrontation or something else entirely.

More information on the Cena-Lyles appearance, including specifics on format and any additional names attached to the Fanatics Games lineup, should surface as Fanatics Fest draws closer.
