Doug Stahl, Known As Super Destroyer #2, Passes Away

Doug Stahl, who wrestled as Super Destroyer #2 in ECW during the early 1990s, has passed away.

The news was shared by longtime friend Butch Hess in a Facebook post, in which he wrote, “Tonight my oldest friend in the world Doug Stahl passed away.” Hess did not detail a cause of death in the portion of his tribute made public.

Stahl was part of the Super Destroyers tag team, a masked duo that competed in ECW in its formative years before the promotion became known nationally for its hardcore style in the mid-to-late 1990s. Teams built around masked “Destroyer”-style gimmicks were a staple of regional wrestling for decades, and Stahl’s run under the mask made him part of that lineage during ECW’s early days.

Details on Stahl’s life outside the ring, along with additional information on his career, have not been widely circulated following the news of his passing. PW Exclusive extends condolences to Stahl’s family, friends, and everyone in the wrestling community mourning his loss.
