Cash Wheeler Says FTR’s Third AEW Tag Title Reign Was Probably Their Last

Cash Wheeler is already looking back on FTR’s most recent AEW World Tag Team Championship run with a sense of finality. Appearing as a guest on Late Night Grin with Joe Hulbert, Wheeler indicated that the team’s third reign with the title will likely be the last time they hold that championship in All Elite Wrestling.

FTR captured the AEW World Tag Team titles for the third time in November 2025, giving the celebrated duo yet another chapter in what has been a distinguished run in the company. That reign came to an end in May 2026 at Double or Nothing, closing the book on what now appears, at least in Wheeler’s view, to be a defining final chapter with that particular title.

The significance of that assessment shouldn’t be understated. FTR — Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood — have spent years building a legacy as one of the most acclaimed tag teams in professional wrestling, and their work in AEW has been a cornerstone of that reputation. Three tag title reigns with the same promotion is a substantial achievement by any measure, and Wheeler framing this last one as the conclusion of that specific journey gives it added weight.

Whether that sentiment reflects a broader shift in FTR’s future direction in AEW remains to be seen, but Wheeler’s candid reflection on the Late Night Grin appearance suggests the team is entering a new phase — whatever that ultimately looks like.
