After an extended absence from the ring, Sareee is finally ready to lace up her boots again. The Japanese star announced Saturday that she will compete at a Marvelous event on June 21 at Fukuoka Nishitetsu Hall — her first match back following a stretch on the sidelines that included missing the AEW Owen Hart Tournament.
Sareee won’t be easing back in quietly, either. She’ll be teaming with Marvelous standout Takumi Iroha to challenge the AAAW Tag Team Champions Nyla Rose and Nightshade. It’s a high-profile return bout that puts Sareee right back in the thick of the action on a meaningful card rather than a low-stakes tune-up.
The pairing of Sareee and Iroha is a natural one given the Marvelous connection, and both are well-regarded in-ring performers capable of making a strong case against a physical, experienced tag team in Rose and Nightshade. Rose, of course, is a fixture in AEW while also maintaining an active presence on the independent and international scene, which adds an extra layer of intrigue to the matchup.
Sareee had been positioned as a notable piece of AEW’s women’s division, making her absence from the Owen Hart Tournament a conspicuous one. Her return on the Marvelous stage suggests she’s healthy and ready to rebuild momentum. Whether this signals a broader return to activity — including stateside — remains to be seen, but June 21 in Fukuoka is where it all starts back up.
