Two TNA Championships Defended on IMPACT, Knockouts TV Title Tournament Continues

Thursday night’s edition of TNA IMPACT on AMC is loaded, with two championship matches and the ongoing Knockouts Television Championship tournament all on the card.

Xia Brookside puts the TNA Knockouts World Championship on the line in what should be one of the most intense matches of the night, as she defends against former champion Léi Ying Lee in a No DQ contest. The stipulation opens the door for a bruising, anything-goes encounter between two wrestlers who clearly have unfinished business.

The Hardys are also putting the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line, facing The Great Hands in what will be one of the more closely watched bouts on the show. Hardy tag title defenses always carry weight, and this one is no different.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Knockouts Television Championship is beginning to take shape. Two first-round tournament matches are scheduled — Indi Hartwell versus Vicki Venuto, and Jody Threat versus Gabby Forza — with the winners advancing toward what will be a historic title reign for whoever claims it first.

Rounding out the card is a three-way tag team match pitting Leon Slater and Ricky Sosa against The Righteous — Dutch and Vincent — and The System’s Bear Bronson and Brian Myers. With three teams involved and no title on the line, expect a chaotic and hard-hitting encounter.

It’s a well-constructed lineup that gives TNA plenty of room to build momentum heading into whatever lies ahead on the summer calendar.
