A Raw Star Has Already Stepped Up as Sami Zayn’s First Challenger for the Undisputed WWE Title

Sami Zayn’s run as Undisputed WWE Champion is barely off the ground, and the line for challengers is already forming. In the wake of Night of Champions, a Raw Superstar publicly declared himself the first man in line for Zayn’s newly won title, signaling that the new champion won’t get much of a honeymoon period.

The declaration sets the stage for what figures to be one of the more emotionally charged title programs on Raw this summer. Zayn’s journey to the top of WWE has been one of the most celebrated in recent memory — a years-long arc from beloved underdog to legitimate world champion — which means whoever steps up to challenge him carries the weight of trying to tear that story down. A rivalry framed as personal rather than purely competitive only adds to the stakes.

Zayn capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship marked a watershed moment for a performer who spent years as one of the most over acts on the roster without the title to match. Now that he has it, the real test begins: whether he can hold off hungry challengers and establish himself as a credible, long-term champion. With at least one determined rival already making noise, that test is coming sooner rather than later.

How WWE builds toward the first official title defense — and whether this challenger gets the first crack — will be worth watching closely on Raw in the coming weeks.
