Joe Hendry’s reputation for appearing whenever his name is spoken has apparently reached Gotham City — or at least the official Batman Threads account.

A social media user recently tested the phenomenon by posting on Threads, essentially asking whether Batman would materialize if his name were invoked in the same fashion Hendry does in professional wrestling. The Dark Knight’s official account took notice and fired back with a swift clarification: Batman is, in fact, not Joe Hendry.

It’s a brief but telling exchange. Hendry has built much of his TNA character around the idea that simply saying his name summons him — a gimmick that has resonated far beyond the usual wrestling audience. The fact that a mainstream pop-culture brand like Batman is now riffing on it speaks to how much traction the bit has gained outside hardcore wrestling circles.

Hendry has been one of the hottest acts in TNA over the past year, parlaying his viral catchphrases and crowd-friendly presentation into a legitimate main-event run. He’s also made appearances in WWE NXT, further raising his profile on a national and international stage.
