Thekla Names Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Marina Shafir & Megan Bayne as the ‘Smart B*tches’ of Women’s Wrestling

Thekla has never been shy about her opinions, and in a new interview with Bleacher Report, the self-styled ‘Toxic Spider’ made her worldview crystal clear: most of the women she encounters are dumb b*tches — and she’s happy to tell you exactly who isn’t.

When asked to elaborate on her signature insult, Thekla carved out a very short list of exceptions. Skye Blue, Julia Hart, Marina Shafir, and Megan Bayne are the four names she singled out as worthy of the ‘smart b*tch’ label. The implication, as Thekla put it, is straightforward: “So yes, there are dumb b*tches, obviously” — and the rest of the locker room can draw their own conclusions.

It’s a characteristically sharp bit of character work from Thekla, who has built her AEW persona around an acid wit and a willingness to antagonize just about anyone. The women she chose to spare are all notable figures in the current women’s division — Blue and Hart have both been prominent in AEW storylines, while Shafir and Bayne bring a physically imposing edge that Thekla apparently respects. Whether this amounts to a tacit alliance, a simple acknowledgment of peers she finds worthy, or just another layer of her heel mystique is anyone’s guess.

What’s clear is that Thekla isn’t softening her edges. If anything, she’s doubling down — and putting the rest of the women’s division on notice in the process.
