Tony Khan Rules Out Buying TNA, Dismisses $40 Million Price Tag

TNA Wrestling’s potential sale has become a talking point in wrestling business circles, and AEW President Tony Khan has made his position clear: he’s not interested.

On the media call for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Khan was asked about the possibility of acquiring TNA and shot down any suggestion that a purchase was on the table. His comments came amid broader speculation about TNA’s ownership future, with sports business analyst Blake Avignon reporting that Anthem’s Len Asper has set a $30 million floor for a potential sale, with his preferred asking price landing somewhere between $40 million and $50 million.

Khan’s flat dismissal is notable given that AEW and TNA have had a working relationship in recent years, with talent regularly crossing between the two promotions and TNA content airing on platforms that gave it wider visibility. Despite that partnership, Khan appears to have no appetite to absorb the company outright at the price being floated.

The news puts TNA’s future in sharper focus. If Anthem is actively seeking a buyer in the $40–50 million range and one of the most financially positioned players in the independent wrestling space has already passed, the question of who steps up becomes more pressing. Whether another buyer emerges — or whether the asking price comes down — remains to be seen, but Khan’s public disinterest effectively closes one of the more plausible doors in that conversation.
