Tony Khan Says He Hopes Jack Perry Stays in AEW Amid Contract Questions

Jack Perry’s future with AEW has become one of the more talked-about topics in the promotion, and Tony Khan has now weighed in on the situation. The AEW president addressed Perry’s contract status publicly, expressing that he hopes to have Perry in the company for a long time to come.

The conversation was sparked after wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline reported that Perry was, as of recently, working without a contract in place. That kind of situation naturally raises questions about a talent’s long-term commitment to a promotion — and whether a deal gets done or a departure becomes possible.

Perry has been one of AEW’s more prominent figures in recent years. After a controversial exit from the company following the infamous CM Punk backstage incident at All In 2023, he returned and has since been positioned as a significant part of the roster, most recently working in a high-profile role that has kept him near the top of the card.

Khan’s public comments suggesting he wants Perry around long-term are a positive sign for fans of the former TNT Champion, but until a new deal is officially signed and announced, the uncertainty will likely linger. Contract situations like this aren’t unusual in wrestling, and they don’t always signal imminent departures — but they do keep the rumor mill turning until something concrete is confirmed.

Whether a new agreement gets finalized in the near future remains to be seen.
