Fatal Influence Captures WWE Women’s Tag Titles at MSG

Fatal Influence made an emphatic statement on the main roster Saturday night, as Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid dethroned Paige and Brie Bella to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The title change came with a heavy assist from Jacy Jayne, who proved instrumental in setting up the finish. Jayne distracted the referee just long enough for Henley to level Paige with a lariat while the official wasn’t looking. Soon after, Reid was driven shoulder-first into the ring post, giving Paige a window to go on offense. But as Paige lined up a suplex, Henley pulled focus from ringside, and although Brie Bella managed to deal with Henley on the outside, it opened the door for more chaos. Jayne climbed onto the apron as Paige attempted a roll-up, and the resulting distraction gave Reid enough time to recover and pick up the pinfall.

The win marks the first championship reign for Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid as a team, and it’s the first title captured by Fatal Influence since the trio’s move to WWE’s main roster. It also closes the book on Paige and Brie Bella’s 91-day run atop the division. The now-former champions had won the titles in a Fatal Four-Way Match at WrestleMania 42, but their reign ultimately fell victim to Fatal Influence’s numbers advantage and Jayne’s deciding interference.

With Jayne, Henley and Reid now holding gold, Fatal Influence has quickly positioned itself as one of the most formidable groups in the women’s tag division. The trio’s ability to lean on Jayne as an outside enforcer gives them a built-in edge over most challengers, and it’s a dynamic WWE will likely continue to build around going forward.

How long Fatal Influence can hold onto the titles remains to be seen, but after toppling a decorated pairing like Paige and Brie Bella in the world’s most famous arena, they’ve already made their arrival on the main roster impossible to ignore.
