Report: Corbin-Dijak Reunion, Enzo-Cass Among Tag Team Fixes Floated for WWE

WWE’s tag team scene on both Raw and SmackDown has looked thin for months, and with neither show offering much reason for optimism, speculation is mounting over which reunions or signings could give the division a jolt. Several possibilities have been floated, built around names WWE already has ties to or could easily bring back into the fold.

The most tangible is a potential reunion of Baron Corbin and Donovan Dijak. During his time away from WWE, Corbin worked as Bishop Dyer and teamed with Dijak under the name The Skyscrapers, a pairing that held the MLW World Tag Team Titles for 261 days before Corbin returned to WWE this past summer. Since then, Corbin has been positioned as a singles act, most recently coming up short against Trick Williams in a United States Title bid. With SmackDown’s two-hour runtime leaving little room for another singles arc, sliding Corbin back into a tag setting with Dijak — who never got much of a real chance on the main roster in his first WWE run — is being viewed as a logical next step for both men.

Then there’s the long-requested reunion of Enzo Amore and Big Cass. The two were split apart on the main roster after a short run together back in 2018, and fans have wanted to see it fixed ever since. It looked possible again this past summer when Cass left AEW and Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center, but ultimately only Cass ended up re-signing with WWE. Whether Amore quietly joined him as well remains unconfirmed, but with Cass struggling to find footing as a singles competitor, pairing him back with Amore is seen as an obvious way to give both men direction — and finally deliver the extended run they never got a decade ago.

The third idea centers on AEW’s The Acclaimed, Anthony Bowens and Max Caster. The duo was arguably AEW’s signature homegrown act during its hottest stretch in late 2022 and early 2023, but their momentum cooled, and a brief singles split for both men failed to produce much before they were reunited as reluctant partners. Their AEW contracts are reportedly set to expire in October, and there’s been no confirmation yet on whether the company is working to keep either man. WWE is said to have at least some interest in Bowens as a potential singles addition, but bringing in both him and Caster as a package would give WWE’s tag ranks an established, over act rather than a project built from scratch.

None of these moves are confirmed, but the throughline is clear: WWE’s tag division needs fresh blood, and the fastest way to generate it may be leaning on chemistry that already exists rather than building new pairings from the ground up. Whether it’s Corbin and Dijak cashing in on their MLW success, Enzo and Cass finally getting their do-over, or an Acclaimed arrival from AEW, all three would address the same core problem — a tag scene that currently lacks teams fans have a reason to care about. What WWE does with its creative direction from here will determine whether any of these ideas move from speculation to reality.
