Former United States Champion Carlito made a surprise return during the Backlash Premium Live Event, making his presence felt during the match between Damian Priest and music superstar Bad Bunny.
The match saw them use various weapons, including a chair, steel chair, and kendo sticks. Right out of the gate, Bunny hit a driver before they started to brawl, including around the ringside and into the crowd. While out brawling among the fans, Priest connected with a broken arrow Bunny off a piece of equipment through tables.
Back in the ring, Bunny targeted the knee of Priest by using the ring post and steel chain. Priest started to beg off and apologize for his action, leading to Bunny feeling bad for him, allowing Priest to kick him in the face. Priest went to hit him with a chair and Bunny hit a low blow. This led to Judgment Day running out, only for Rey Mysterio to attempt to make the save, but the numbers game was just too much for him. Former WWE stars Carlito and Savio Vega came out to make the save before the rest of the LOW came out to even things up and get rid of the heel faction. Bunny hit the Bunny Destroyer for the win.
Carlito originally worked for WWE from 2003 through 2008, where he held the intercontinental, United States, and Tag Team Titles. He returned in 2020 for a surprise appearance in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. The next night, Raw, Carlito teamed up with Jeff Hardy in his first match on Raw in 10 years to beat Elias and Jaxson Ryker.
