Bad Bunny emerged victorious at last weekend’s Backlash Premium Live Event, but his win was far from easy.
The Grammy Award-winning artist defeated Damian Priest in the San Juan Street Fight, Bunny’s first singles match for WWE. The Me Porto Benito artist made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37, where he teamed with Priest to defeat John Morrison and The Miz. Less than a year later, Bunny competed in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match which was won by Brock Lesnar. Bad Bunny’s match at Backlash (considered by many to be the match of the night) saw both the Judgment Day and the Latino World Order come to the aid of their respective members. The LWO also had back-up from Carlito (in his first appearance since February 2021) and Savio Vega (in his first appearance since Survivor Series 2020.)
Bad Bunny isn’t a full-time wrestler, but you’d be forgiven for thinking he was given his performance at Backlash in Puerto Rico. Not only did the musical artist dish out punishment, but he also took plenty of punishment from Priest and other members of The Judgment Day.
After the match, Bunny posted the following photo on Instagram, showing that Priest put the back in Backlash.
Bunny’s performance at Backlash concludes quite a month for the Grammy Award-winner. In April, Bunny headlined Coachella alongside Blackpink and Frank Ocean. During his first set, Bad Bunny brought out Post Malone, Jhay Cortez and Jowell & Randy before making a guest appearance during Gorillaz‘s set at the second weekend of the festival.
