AAA returned to Fox in Latin America this week with a live broadcast from Foro GNP Seguros in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, and the card came loaded with some notable attractions.
Headlining the action was a three-way AAA World Cruiserweight Championship match pitting champion Rey Fenix against two familiar challengers in Laredo Kid and Lince Dorado. Fenix has long been regarded as one of the most athletically gifted performers in lucha libre, and a triple-threat setting against two opponents with their own ties to the division made for a high-stakes title defense. Laredo Kid has been a consistent presence in AAA’s cruiserweight picture for years, while Lince Dorado brings name recognition from his time on the international circuit, making the combination a compelling test for the champion.
Beyond the title match, five total segments were advertised for the broadcast, and the show also featured the return of El Grande Americano, adding an extra layer of intrigue for fans tuned in via Fox’s Latin American feed or through AAA’s YouTube and Facebook streams for viewers outside the region.
AAA’s continued presence on Fox keeps the promotion visible across Latin America on traditional television, while the simulcast on social platforms ensures the product reaches a global audience. With a card built around a championship contest and a notable return, the Mérida taping gave the company plenty to work with heading further into its 2025 calendar.
