Jay Briscoe Passes Away; Wrestling World Reacts To ROH Icon’s Untimely Death

We are saddened to report that Jay Briscoe has passed away. He was 38.

Tony Khan shared the terrible news via social media. The AEW and ROH owner paid his condolences to the Briscoe family in a heartfelt message on Twitter. Khan added AEW will do everything to support the family in this time of great distress.

Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today.
Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We'll do whatever we can to support his family.

An ROH original, Jay Briscoe gained recognition for his work alongside brother Mark Briscoe. The two would soon become synonymous with the promotion’s tag team division, winning the ROH World Tag Team Champion on 13 different occasions. In addition, Jay captured the ROH World Championship twice.
