Baron Corbin’s Old MLW Fusion Footage Airs After WWE Return

Baron Corbin popped up on the latest episode of MLW Fusion, giving fans a surprise reminder of his run with the promotion just as he’s settling back into WWE. The episode aired on Saturday, but the timeline is a little more complicated than it looks — the show was actually taped back on April 12 at Festival Hall in Charleston, South Carolina, months before Corbin resurfaced on WWE’s SmackDown on July 10.

In the footage, Corbin joined forces with Josh Bishop and Donovan Dijak for the night’s main event, a bout that had originally been billed as a three-on-two handicap match for the Contra Mercs trio of Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Mads Krule Krugger. Corbin’s addition evened the odds and gave fans an unexpected reunion with a familiar face inside an MLW ring.

The appearance comes with some added context. Just two weeks prior, MLW had stripped Corbin of his half of the World Tag Team Championship, a title he’d held alongside Dijak. That decision led Dijak to align with Bishop as his new partner, setting up the trio dynamic seen in the main event.

Elsewhere on the card, KUSHIDA defended the MLW World Middleweight Championship in a four-way match against Alan Angels, Taiji Ishimori, and Templario, retaining the title and then following up with a post-match attack on Templario that included unmasking him. In other action, LaBron Kozone picked up a win over Manny Lo.

With Corbin now back on WWE programming, this Fusion appearance plays as a farewell of sorts to his time in MLW — a taped glimpse of unfinished business airing just as he’s begun a new chapter elsewhere. The full episode is available to stream for fans wanting to see the surprise return in full.
