Former WWE superstar Alex Riley (real name Kevin Kiley) has nothing but nice things to say about The Miz.
WWE fans might remember Riley as The Miz’s protégé during the latter’s run as the top heel of the company. Riley would often have a run-in during matches, taking a beating for The Miz on multiple occasions.
The alliance culminated with a singles match at the Capitol Punishment pay-per-view event in 2011, when a babyface Riley defeated the A-lister. The relationship behind the scenes was incredibly positive, with The Miz looking after his right-hand man.
Check out Riley’s comments about his former mentor from his latest interview with PWMania’s Scott Mitchel.
“It was a huge opportunity to be put with a guy who was that talented. We played off each other very well, and I even got a spot on WrestleMania because of it. When I was put on NXT, I thought I was doing pretty well. We just got paired up naturally and it was great. He’s a really good guy, has a good heart, and was always good to me.”
